On boats with hulls made of GRP, in areas of high fire risk, such as an engine
room or fuel compartment, there's an increased risk of fire as a result of
intense heat on the exposed GRP.

To help reduce this risk it's recommended that any exposed GRP structure on
your boat is coated with suitable fire-retardant material, complying with Class 2
requirements of BS 476 Part 7. [6.4]
